Tallahassee home sales remained about the same as July with 125 homes sold according to the Tallahassee Board of Realtor multiple listing service.  The downside: both July and August 2010 sales volume numbers were down over 30% from 2009 levels. 

The Tallahassee median sale price for homes logged in at $174,900.  Median sale prices seem to be muddling along in the $170-180,000 range. 

These Tallahassee trends reflect the overall weakness in the housing market across the nation.  After a hopeful spring, the market seems to be slowing down, matching the overall economic and employment pictures.

For Tallahassee home sellers, prices will likely hover around current levels for months to come.  The Wall Street Journal wrote today that the most experts don't see an improvement this year, and don't have much hope for 2011 either.  Your best bet may be to bite the bullet and take what you can get now. 

For Tallahassee home buyers, interest rates remain low, and there is healthy buyer demand for the best priced homes on the market.  If you can find a deal on the house that works for you, why not buy it?
