Tallahassee Real Estate Blog

For the past 3 years, the federal government has been trying to stem the rising tide of real estate foreclosures.  One thought was to give incentives to homeowners and lenders for loan modifications and short sales instead of costly foreclosure proceedings.  Success has been limited.

Now Chase Mortgage is one lender determined to make this work.  We just helped a Tallahassee homeowner negotiate a short sale with Chase, where our client was given $23,000 at closing for participating in the short sale instead of walking away from the severely "underwater" home.  That's right - $23,000.  No deficiency judgment.

Earlier this week, Chase called us to help arrange a short sale with a homeowner who had already vacated her real estate.  In this case Chase offered $30,000 for her to participate in a short sale, instead of forcing a costly foreclosure proceeding.  Reports from California indicate Chase has offered up to $35,000 in some cases.

Do you know someone facing foreclosure?  There are several programs run by lenders or the government that may benefit homeowners facing foreclosure.  Please call us at 850.445.2476 for more info.
