According to a survey by www.Zillow.com of 109 economists, the weight of continued foreclosures will keep prices form rebounding through 2013.  When prices do begin to rise, values will not match those seen before the housing bust began in 2006 reports www.Bloomberg.com business news. 

The foreclosure situation remains bleak with more than 14 million homes in foreclosure or deliquent, and 1 in 4 mortgage holders underwater.  Another surge of foreclosures will materialize in 2012 as banks ramp up efforts to clear foreclosure backlogs, and a large amount of 5/1 adjustable rate mortgages lent in 2007 adjust in the spring. 

The good news - mortgage rates are at an all time low, and many buyers are wading back into the housing market seeking to take advantage of low prices and low rates.

For Tallahassee real estate, 79 homes received foreclosure notices in December.  1 in 1562 homes are in foreclosure according to www.Realtytrac.com .
