Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30 year mortgage rates 4.55%, up slightly from the 4.52% they averaged last week. That's good news for buyers who have feared reports indicating rates would spike in the face of debt crisis turmoil. It's still uncertain what would happen if the debate is not resolved by August 2.
