The Florida Association of Realtors and the University of Florida released their October statewide home price report. Tallahassee experienced a larger drop in median price than did most other metro areas. This data is for one month only, and cannot be taken as a trend. However, it's in line with the general trend that Tallahassee came late to the housing slowdown in 2007, and may take longer to show improvement during a recovery.
Statewide, single family median prices were down 3% compared with October 2009. The Tallahassee median home price was down 9%. The leading metro area with positive price growth was Miami with a 12% increase compared to 2009.
